BUILDING MANAGER
Class III, Step 1 - $13.00/hour
Must be available Monday to Friday, 4pm to 10pm or later, and weekends.
Occasional Sunday hours may also be required.
Up to 20 hours per week.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Responsible for the general operation of the Student Center in absence of the Director and other building staff.
  • Enforce Student Center policies and regulations, greet guests as required.
  • Make routine checks and report malfunctions of building equipment.
  • Prepare accident, incident, safety, and work requests reports as needed.
  • Open, lock and secure meeting rooms and other scheduled facilities.
  • Contact appropriate University personnel in case of an emergency.
  • Work as an events manager of concerts and special events.
  • Monitor special events to ensure proper use of equipment and facility.

  • JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    • Must be enrolled at SFSU with a minimum of 6 units (will verify).
    • Must have the ability to supervise and direct peers, work independently under minimum supervision, be able to interpret and carry out Student Center policies.
    • Must be able to logically reason, draw valid conclusions and make recommendations.
    • Must be dependable and willing to assume and carry out assigned responsibilities.
    • Must be able to participate in group meetings and clearly express ideas and suggestions.
    • Must be able to maintain cooperative working relationships with students, faculty, and staff.
    • Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
    • Background in Student Center operation and/or student activities is desirable.
