EVENING CUSTODIAN II
(Full-Time Non-Student Position)

The Cesar Chavez Student Center, a separate not-for-profit auxiliary organization at San Francisco State University is hiring for a full-time evening custodian position in the Operations Department. Under the immediate direction of the Lead Custodian and overall supervision of the Custodian Supervisor. The position assists in the general custodial care and maintenance of the Student Center and its service areas during the hours of 2:30pm – 11:00pm Monday through Thursday and 2:00pm to 10:30 pm on Fridays. Winter and Summer hours may vary.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide full custodial services of all areas of the building including sweep, scrub, mop, wax, seal, and polish floors; vacuum and shampoo conference rooms, lobby areas, and offices; empty trash receptacles and wastebaskets; wipe down and clean around trash receptacles; clean baseboards, windows, window ledges, doors, lights, columns, walls, signage, and elevators; dust offices, cubicles, desks, and sills; clean bathrooms and replenish bathrooms supplies; reset conference tables, chairs, and other furniture after cleaning room; and other special projects as assigned but not limited to power wash of loading dock, stairwells, and plazas; wash painted halls; vacuum vents; clean exterior of kitchen hood and stacks.  Ensure that blue recycling containers are kept clean. Other custodial duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience of equipment used for custodial work
Ability to use and care for custodial supplies and equipment
Ability to operate machines used for custodial work (floor scrubber and shampoo machine)
Ability to use high-speed machines
Ability to work independently
Ability to follow instructions,
Good communication skills.
Two years experience of custodial work preferred

COMPENSATION
Starting annual salary: $28,080.

OTHER
This is a union position.  Once hired the employee will be required to join the union after 30-days of employment.
