MEETING SERVICES SENIOR ASSISTANT
Class II, Step 1 - $10.85/hour
Hours to be arranged. Up to 15 hours per week.
Working shift: Up to 30 hours arranged

JOB DESCRIPTION
- Prepare and type rough drafts, letters, reports, memoranda or other correspondence.
- Process and maintain schedules, attendance, and payroll records to assigned staff and departments.
- Maintain budget balances; monitor expenditures of funds.
- Review and proof documents, records and forms for accuracy, completeness and conformance to applicable rules and regulations
- Compose correspondence; report information in person or by telephone where judgment, knowledge and interpretation of policies may be necessary.
- Collect and compile statistical and finance data and other information for inclusion into special and periodic reports; revise schedules, reports, records, and other information as necessary.
- Order and maintain office supplies; prepare and process purchase requisitions according to approved procedures; schedule maintenance and repair equipment.
- Coordinate the duplication and distribution of a variety of materials; establish and maintain files.
- Disseminate information and schedules to staff as necessary to assure effective coordination of department or program functions.
- Other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Two years of experience in an office setting
- Excellent written and oral communications
- Experience operating standard office equipment (PC/ MAC, fax, printing, etc.)
- Basic MS Office Suite Knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Computer literacy: MS Vista, Mac OS X, Parallels
- Type 50 wpm
- Must have excellent customer service skills (including in – person, e – mail, & phone) and excellent phone presence and communication skills
- Must maintain a professional attitude during work hours
- Ability to establish positive work relationships with student organizations, faculty, staff, Student Center Governing Board, vendors and contractors
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and manage constantly changing events
- Must be organized and detailed – oriented, able to multi – task
- Event management systems experience a plus (EMS)
- Must be able to learn and enforce procedures and policies
- Must be enrolled in SFSU with a minimum of six units
