Room Reservation Policy, Rates & Capacities

Off-Campus Groups Scheduling Student Center Facilities:
These rates cover events sponsored by groups which have no affiliation with the University.

The purpose of these events must be consistent with the goals and policies of the Cesar Chavez Student Center and San Francisco State University. Fees for activities sponsored by non-University affiliated groups shall be set at a rate which is comparable to commercial rates charged in the community for similar services and facilities. Off-campus groups are subject to an 8% administrative charge in addition to the rates below. These rates shall be updated annually.

The rooms listed below are meeting rooms only, if you wish to schedule a large conference or event which would require the maximum use of our building, please contact Meeting Services Assistance at (415)-405-0723.

Room Note:
  1. Rack-N-Cue: Evenings & Saturdays only; please check with Geneive Jaramilla, Rack-n-Cue manager, at (415) 338-1921 for availability.
  2. Jack Adams Hall: Theater style seating capacity is 375, capacity will vary for other set-up arrangements.
  3. Rigoberta Menchu Hall: Beginning AFTER 4 PM (on weekdays), receptions ONLY & no more than 3 times per semester.
  4. South Plaza & Malcolm X Plaza: MUST be reserved through OSPLD at 415-338-2171.

2007-2008 RATES:
These fees and charges shall be set at a rate to cover all direct costs of providing the services and facilities and shall include a reasonable fee in support of the indirect costs of the building.

DIRECT COSTS:
Costs associated with the programs that are normally contained in the Student Center operating budget, for example, custodial costs for set-up and breakdown, utilities, supplies, and scheduling assistance.

EXTRA SERVICES COSTS:
Costs not directly associated with the program but which add to the general operating costs of the Student Center; for example, staff salaries, repair and maintenance and insurance.

EXTENDED HOURS COSTS:
Costs associated with the program for which the Student Center is not normally budgeted; for example, opening early/late closing, special staffing (security, custodial), special equipment rental and utilities overtime.
